Skin and eyes
Anyone have any recommendations for herbs for clearing/detoxing the skin and/or getting rid of dark circles? I've looked through the tags, but unless I've missed something, I can't find anything :X Thank you in advance! |

Yard progress
Finished the back yard in putting down visquene, clearing weeds and those pesky grape hyacinths. This should kill everything and leave us a blank canvas to create something fun maybe a patio next year. You can see where I ran out of bark mulch and had the brilliant idea to yoink neighbor's leaf bags, heh heh. I love how warm it's been. Now I have time to get all these things done before it gets too cold. ( Before )After  |

Here's the plan
Feelings on the layoff have fluctuated from hurt, angry, depressed to an elation for newfound freedom, gratitude for more time on my own projects, mixed in with fear over what we should do next. Now I'm feeling much more calm. I figured out the six month plan. We most likely will keep City Dogs open in the winter as much as possible. This ultimately will be Miah's call on whether he'd rather seek a temp job or brave the cold temps. This plan keeps us in a holding pattern where we can scrape by with City Dogs and my unemployment without wiping out the emergency savings. A good thing since most of that money was set aside for paying off our windows in February. I can juggle debt like a mofo; however, I'd rather not carry a credit card balance once the dust settles on this experience. That said, I plan to take the necessary time to brush up on my skills, look around carefully for not just a job, but the right job for me. It's a disservice to yourself and your employer to hate what you do. It doesn't do them any good to have a person who isn't the right match for their position. I know a better work situation is out there for me somewhere. We'll take these cards we've been dealt and make the most of the situation. This plan may change drastically if I haven't found something by the time my unemployment runs out. Then debt looms on the horizon. Luckily, by then it's time for City Dogs to kick it up a notch as the weather warms up. Many more event opportunities. I keep reading we're coming out of the recession. I assume it'll take a little time before we see job growth return. So overall, I feel much calmer today knowing that Miah can be the breadwinner for a while. If we tighten our belts on spending, we'll get through this. I always felt we would be ok. Now I have a budget to back me up. Thanks so much to those of you who sent job leads! Updating my resume now. |
